History
Charles C Gould (Charlie) worked for Mideast Aluminum Corp. in Dayton, NJ from 1964 to 1975. He started as janitor and left the company as a Vice President and General Manager of their Anodizing Division. During his time at Mideast Aluminum he went to night school for several years and got his high school GED diploma and took production courses at Rutgers University.
Charlie started Bunn industries on March 1, 1975 in his garage with a total investment $250.00. With that money he purchased a Sears radial saw, a hammer, and a set of screw drivers. Charlie made prospecting phone calls on Mondays during the day in the hope of getting some appointments. Any appointments made would be visited during the day. If there were no appointments made it would be back to the telephone calls. When an order was received, Charlie would make it in his garage at night.
In March of 1977 Bunn Industries purchased its competitor Delaware Valley Box & Lumber Co. in Glendora, NJ and purchased rights to use its name. From that time on the company was known as Delaware Valley Box & Lumber Co. (DVBL).
In 1978 DVBL purchased State Box & Woodworking Company located in Trenton, NJ. Expanding the operations and proving much needed room for growth.
In 1982 DVBL purchased Woodbury Container Corp. of Camden, NJ expanding the business into the corrugated box industry.
In 1983 the Glendora location was expanded with a new 10,000 sq. ft. metal building allowing for the consolidation of the corrugated equipment into one facility.
In 2016 DVBL built a new 25,000 sq. ft state of the art building on 2651 East State Street in Trenton, NJ expanding the company’s capabilities for large projects.
